Okyo "OJ" Simmons
OJ Simmons is The Leader Builder, a name earned over 27 years in the U.S. Navy—from warships to the White House. He retired as a Master Chief Petty Officer (E-9) after leading and developing people across some of the military’s most demanding environments, culminating in an assignment as the Navy’s senior enlisted leader at the White House Communications Agency. Developing leaders was not simply part of his career. It became the through-line of it.
Today, OJ is the founder and CEO of ENYNE Leadership Development, a VetHUB-certified firm serving corporate and federal clients, including DHS, TSA, the U.S. Army, and CISA.
His work is grounded in a simple idea: every organization has a leadership and culture reality today—and a place it wants to go. The gap between the two is where drift begins.
Through ENYNE, OJ helps organizations see their leadership and culture clearly, identify the gaps that matter most, and develop the leaders needed to move forward with confidence.
For OJ, leadership has always been personal. The best leaders create environments where people know they matter, understand what is expected, and are equipped to do their best work.
